A rapid-fire column for the week

All’s quiet on the coaching search front as the key players in Louisville’s search batten down the hatches, sound out agents and reps of coaches and start putting together information on candidates. (For the record, I mentioned the names I mentioned last week for a reason.)

On the current team, I find myself conflicted. Credit to the players and coaches for their efforts in comebacks vs. Notre Dame and Miami. But the first halves are just so brutal offensively — Louisville had 12 scores in 34 possessions on Wednesday night, with only three fouls drawn while going 10 of 26 on 2-pointers. That offensive struggle is compounded by poor decision-making in key moments late in games. Quick shots and bad turnovers with the game on the line spoiled both the comebacks.
