Part of me wishes I wrote the TFST Extra newsletter today, because there just hasn’t been much movement in the coaching search this week. Louisville’s interim athletics director, Josh Heird, was in New York for the ACC Tournament, and he has arrived at the point in his work when he is ready to speed this thing up.
Heird has not yet held a formal interview with Kenny Payne (or any other candidates) as of Wednesday night, but as I have repeatedly said re: Payne, that is expected to happen soon. Other interviews may happen before the NCAA Tournament if candidates are willing to do so. I am confident Heird won’t make a hire without holding formal interviews with multiple candidates.
